Cadbury's Takeover

THOUSANDS of Cadbury workers are fearing for their future after bosses today caved in and agreed an £11.7BILLION takeover from America's biggest food company.

Kraft — best known for Philadelphia and Dairylea cheese — upped its offer by more than a billion pounds last night.

The takeover brings an end to Cadbury's history as an independent company dating back to 1824.

Furious Cadbury family members and workers urged shareholders to oppose the deal.

Felicity Loudon, the great grand-daughter of Cadbury founder Sir Egbert, branded it a "horror story".

But some of the City's biggest investors have already accepted the offer — saying the price is right.

It means that Dairy Milk, Cadbury's Flake and Curly Wurly are now AMERICAN.

Kraft boss Irene Rosenfeld insisted Cadbury's staff would "thrive" as part of Kraft.

She said: "We have great respect for Cadbury's brands, heritage and people."

But workers and thousands of Cadbury fans on the internet have already turned on the US company.
