Ahmad Dhani’s Nazi uniform controversy

Thejakartapost - Musician Ahmad Dhani has caused uproar by wearing a replica of the uniform worn by Nazi military commander Heinrich Himmel in a music video dedicated to presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto and running mate Hatta Rajasa.

The music video features Dhani — alongside three other singers Husein, Virzha and Nowela — performing a cover of British band Queen's song "We Will Rock You". They the lyrics were changed to glorify Prabowo.

German online media Spiegel was enraged by Dhani’s choice to wear the uniform, which they said featured exact details including the badge on the lapel and red chest pocket lining.

Furthermore, Spiegel pointed out that Prabowo’s campaign was rich in military-themed symbolism and that comparisons could be drawn between the Gerindra Party and other nationalist movements, such as the Nazi Party.

Fellow musicians Anggun and Glen Fredly also criticized Dhani choice of costume. Glen tweeted, as quoted by kompas.com, that Dhani had successfully made a fool of himself and the whole country.

Commenting on this, Ahmad Dhani said he was just misunderstood.

“If I wear the Star of David then everybody will call me a Zionist and when I wear a Nazi uniform then everybody will call me a fascist,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.

Nazi Stealth Jet Could Have Won War for Hitler

Called the Horten 229, the radical "flying wing" fighter-bomber looked and acted a lot like the U.S. Air Force's current B-2 — right down to the "stealth" radar-evading characteristics.

Fortunately for the world, the Ho 229 wasn't put into mass production before Nazi Germany surrendered in May 1945.

But American researchers boxed up and shipped home the prototypes and partially-built planes that existed — and now the same company that builds the B-2 has rebuilt one.

Northrop Grumman Corp. spent its own time and money using the original German blueprints to replicate the wood-and-steel-tube bomber, right down to its unique metallic glue and paint, at its facility in El Segundo, Calif.

Using radar of the same type and frequency used by British coastal defenses in World War II, the engineers found that an Ho 229, flying a few dozen feet above the English Channel, would indeed have been "invisible" to the Royal Air Force — an advantage that arrived too late for the Nazis to exploit.

"This was the most advanced technology that the Germans had at the end of the war, and Northrop solved the question of how stealthy it was and its performance against Allied radar at the time," documentary filmmaker Mike Jorgenson told the Long Beach, Calif., Press-Telegram. "It's significantly better than anything flying operationally probably until the 1960s."

Book Claims Nazi 'Angel of Death' Responsible for High Rate of Twins in Brazilian Town

A German doctor who was commissioned by Adolf Hitler to artificially increase the Aryan birthrate may be responsible for a large number of twins born in a small Brazilian town, a new book claims.

Argentine historian Jorge Camarasa, who specializes in the post-war Nazi flight to South America, alleges Nazi doctor Josef Mengele — also known as the "Angel of Death" — continued his genetic experiments with twins there, The Telegraph reported.

The Telegraph reported that one in five pregnancies in the town of Candido Godoi produce twins, often with blonde hair and blue eyes.

"I think Candido Godoi may have been Mengele's laboratory, where he finally managed to fulfill his dreams of creating a master race of blond-haired, blue-eyed Aryans," said Camarasa, who authored the new book "Mengele: The Angel of Death in South America."

Camarasa said there is "testimony that he attended women, followed their pregnancies, treated them with new types of drugs and preparations that he talked of artificial insemination in human beings, and that he continued working with animals, proclaiming that he was capable of getting cows to produce male twins."

Mengele died in 1979.
