The Accidental Vagina: Design for Qatar's first 2022 World Cup stadium released
However, now that a virtual rendering of the first new purpose-built stadium has been released, the debate is not about whether the fully air conditioned pitch will solve the heat problem.
Rather a number of commentators and tweeters have pointed to the fact that the proposed Al-Wakrah stadium looks very much like a vagina.
Yes, the conservative country has designed what many believe appears to be a giant ode to women's private parts.
This is not what the architects intended. Instead, the design is supposed to resemble the sails of a dhow boat which is traditionally used for pearl fishing by Qataris.
Aecom, the firm that won the Al Wakrah contract along with Zaha Hadid Architects said: "Inspired by the dhow boat that carried generations of local fishermen and pearl divers, the stadium weaves together Qatar's past with its progressive vision for the future.
"Sustainable materials and practices will be used throughout the stadium and the pitch and spectator stands will be cooled to a perfect temperature for football."
Hassan al-Thawadi, the general secretary of Qatar's 2022 committee said: "Al-Wakrah is the first of six stadiums already in the latter stages of the design process, our committee has issued 10 major tenders to the market encompassing project and design managers and stadium-operation consultants."
The stadium, with a capacity of 40,000 people, would be completed by 2018, he said, but declined to comment on the cost.
As well as discussions surrounding the heat, Qatar as also been hit by allegations of migrant construction worker exploitation, as well as accusations of corruption over the voting procedure to win the bid, both of which officials have denied.

Man orders every sandwich on McDonald's menu to create $140 ‘McEverything’
For Nick Chipman of Milwaukee, Wisc., he wanted achieve not just one great thing, but everything -- the McEverything.
On Monday, Chipman rolled up to the McDonald’s branch located on 66th and North Avenue in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, 30 minutes before the end of breakfast service to be sure the kitchen was fully stocked, and literally ordered every sandwich on the menu.
The grand total for his epic order of 43 sandwiches came to $143 – and with that hefty price tag came the completion of a dream.
“Now, I know that some of you are probably reading this right now and thinking to yourself ‘Man, what kind of idiot spends $143 on 43 McDonald’s sandwiches?’” He wrote. “The way I see it though is that with all the leftovers I have I’ve got all my breakfasts, lunches and dinners covered for the next week or so!”
After ordering all 43 sandwiches, Chipman went on the stack them all together using bamboo skewers. The result was a sandwich taller than most five-year-old children.
The hardest part of challenge? Chipman confessed that the most difficult thing was holding off from eating all the food he ordered.
"I'm a total sucker for McDonald’s sandwiches, especially their McGriddles," he added.
Chipman has garnered some attention for other weird creations, which he has posted on his blog. They include dishes like Waffle-Wrapped Bacon Chicken Wings, Sweet & Sour Chicken in a Wonton Cone and an Inside-Out Grilled Cheese Sandwich.
After this ambitious feat, it’s hard to imagine what Chipman will think of next.

LOL: PETA Claims Eating Chicken Wings Could Affect Your Baby’s Penis Size
In a letter from PETA to the festival’s founder, Drew Cerza, the organization claims that “scientific evidence shows that the sons of pregnant women who consume chicken are more likely to have smaller penises because of a chemical found in the birds’ flesh.” Which, of course, leads us to wonder how the people in Buffalo, NY, home of the Buffalo Wing Festival, fare when it comes to these, um, sizable matters.
According to Women’s Health, they don’t have too much to worry about. The chemical PETA points to is phthalate and while it’s true that boys born to moms with the highest levels of phthalate exposure were more likely to have shorter penises, poultry didn’t rank very high on the laundry list of foods containing the chemical.
P.S.
Spices are actually on top of the list. Gotta love how science does that to you.

Pizza delivery boy gets $10 tip for $1,500 order
The enormous order was unsurprisingly pre-authorised, with the payment dealt with in advance over the phone.
But that doesn't mean you can't also tip the delivery boy on arrival.
In the US, where tipping is more of an obligation than a nicety, five-10 per cent of the order total is usually given to delivery boys, with 15-20 per cent expected for complicated orders, according to CNN Money.
The delivery boy had wisely decided to stay anonymous but his friend, known as jfastman, posted a photo of the receipt on social network site Reddit.
The largest delivery bags in the US generally carry a maximum of a dozen pizzas, meaning that this trip would have required seven of those bags, plus a single for the extra pizza.
The 85 pizza pies each weighed more than a kilo, meaning each of the seven bags he carried would have weighed at least 12 kilos.
Jfastman confirmed that his friend also had to make two trips to deliver all the pizzas in his saloon car.

Cops bust car wash for allegedly offering free sex after nine washes
Police say they busted the car wash near Kuala Lumpur last week after discovering it had a partnership with a massage parlour, the Malay Mail reports.
They were tipped off when they raided the parlour and found the car wash cards on several alleged customers of prostitutes there.
"It was supposed to be just another routine operation," Emmi Shah Fadhil, the officer in charge, told the paper.
"To get the extra 'offer' customers must send their cars for washing nine times within a certain period. The tenth car wash will entitle them to free sex," Fadhil said, which would usually cost between 130 and 180 Malaysian ringgit (about $40-56).
Nine Vietnamese women, aged 18 to 28, were arrested on suspicion of prostitution. Four men suspected of running the scheme were also detained.

The Lock of Love
![]() |
| Bridge in Cologne |
The symbolic gesture is meant to represent "unbreakable love", with couples showing their commitment by throwing away the key.
The craze started in the Hungarian city of PECS in the 1980s and has now reached the UK.
Parts of LONDON'S Tower Bridge are plastered with the padlocks while they adorn a fence in a GLASGOW park.
Some romantic souls also leave letters to their lovers or engrave a message on the locks.
In MOSCOW, a tree has been covered, while killjoy officials in PARIS have banned them from the Pont Des Arts bridge because they are too heavy.
Bridges in RIGA, Latvia, and COLOGNE, Germany, are also full of the love tokens.

Ghostly Figure of a weeping Girl in Mirror of Hotel Room
TheSun.com - A TERRIFIED couple spotted this ghostly figure of a weeping girl in the mirror of their hotel room - and fled after managing to snap a picture. The "hysterical" pair said she had curly locks and a check dress, and was "crying".
They checked straight out of the room which was LOCKED by hotel bosses after seeing the spine-tingling image, so no one else could stay there.
A guest at the Ramada Hotel in Watford, Herts, said: "The couple went to reception and were hysterical.
"The man said he wanted to get out of the room ASAP.
"When they were asked why they wanted to move, the man said he had seen a ghost. Staff didn't believe it but then they were shown the picture.
"They were upset and said the image of the child was crying and crying and it was moving in the mirror. The guest was properly shaken."
An investigation has been launched to find out if staff have witnessed spooky occurrences in room No 307. The couple in the room were staying on their own and had no children.
A spokesman for the hotel group said: "We have to be careful because we do not want to upset people, so we have closed off the room to check that there is nothing untoward there.
"We have to investigate it. Anyone coming in is not given that room until we have done our full investigation.
"We are speaking to housekeeping to see if there is anything that would support what has been said by the guest."
The photograph was taken on Bank Holiday Monday. The spokesman said the hotel would give the room "a good clean out".
He added: "We are quite confident there is nothing untoward."

Do All Guys Watch Porn?
If a guy claims he's never seen a porn, tell him there are a few scientists who would like to have a word with him. A recent study planned to compare men who watched hardcore movies with those who didn't, except for one little problem... scientists couldn't find anyone who hadn't been exposed to porn.
According to professor Simon Louis Lajeunesse, from the University of Montreal, Canada, the study was meant to study the effects of pornography.
"The objective of my work," he said, "is to observe the impact of pornography on the sexuality of men, and how it shapes their perception of men and women."
Unfortunately, his team couldn't find a single man who hadn't been exposed to it. "We started our research seeking men in their twenties who had never consumed pornography," he said, "but we couldn't find any."
The study then morphed into an examination of those who do watch porn, and it was found that single young men view it for an average of 40 minutes three times a week. That's compared to the 1.7 times a week for 20 minutes that guys in committed relationships watch.
It's weird to think that porn is so ubiquitous that they couldn't find a single man who hasn't seen it. But then again, sex is the stuff of life, so anyone not aware of it probably doesn't even have a computer.
So either the porn-virgin no longer exists, or he's in hiding, trying to stay away from the internet. Call National Geographic if you spot him.

A Romp Around the Clock Stops Time in Sydney
The identity of a couple caught making love in a clock tower in central
The couple was in full view of the busy street below, with people at a bus stop laughing and pointing at the twosome.
German traveler Dirk Gensler, who was staying at an adjacent backpacker hostel, was gobsmacked by what he saw when he peered out his window.
"I was amazed by it, it was the middle of the day and so many people could see it," he said.
"I thought it was pretty cool."
Management of UniLodge, the student residential building housing the clock tower directly across the road from a major shopping center, insisted that there was no way the pair could be residents.
UniLodge assistant manager Ravi Krishna said that while the rooftop was accessible to those who live in the building, it was impossible to scale the wall that led to the clock tower.

Note to Lawyers: Don’t Accept Sex As Payment
Legal fees can be expensive — but allowing clients to pay with sex, it turns out, is a no-no for lawyers.
A
How much is sex worth in the law world, you might be wondering? The woman’s bill, for an assault-related case, was said to be $2,300. Tipler, local media outlets report, credited off $200 each time she had sex with him — and $400 each time she arranged for another woman to have sex with him. That’s rather insulting to her, isn’t it?
Tipler pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution. It didn’t stop there, though: An investigating board apparently found he also charged excessive (non-sexual) fees, altered evidence, arranged false testimonies, and actually stole money from clients.

Coffee Shrinks Breasts

Damn you, Starbucks: Too much coffee can cause a woman’s breasts to shrink, according to a new study.
The research, conducted at
“They will get smaller, but the breasts aren’t just going to disappear,” says Helena Jernstroem, an experimental oncology lecturer at
Just when we thought we’d come up with a great new game, though, the researchers nixed our idea:
“Anyone who thinks they can tell which women are coffee drinkers just from their bra measurements will be disappointed,” Jernstroem insists. “The problem is that there are two measures for a bra, the cup size and the girth, so you wouldn’t be able to tell.”

Envy is a Dog's Life, Study Finds

Dogs sulked and refused to "shake" paws if other dogs got treats for tricks and they did not, said
"It is a more complex feeling or emotion than what we would normally attribute to animals," said Range.
The study, which was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, also showed dogs licked and scratched themselves and acted stressed when they were denied rewards given to other dogs.
Other studies have shown monkeys often express resentful behaviour when a partner receives a greater reward for performing an identical task, staging strikes or ignoring what they view as inferior compensation.
It turns out dogs are able to show a similar, if less sensitive, response, said Range in a telephone interview.
In a series of experiments using different breeds of dogs, the researchers looked at how two animals sitting next to each other reacted to unequal rewards after handing a paw to a researcher.
Dogs not given a treat licked their mouths, yawned, scratched and showed other signs of stress and stopped performing the task, Range said.
To show this was not just because the animals were not getting food, the researchers then tested the dogs alone and found that in this situation the envious canines cooperated longer before stopping.
"It is really about the unequal distribution of the reward," Range said. "If it was only about frustration they would stop at the same time."
Nagging Wife, Sausage Help Man Win $4.2M Lottery

"My wife had been nagging me all week to get a ticket, so I when saw the Lotto sign ... I sprinted in to get the ticket before they closed," said the man, who asked not to be identified — normal practice among lottery winners in
"I must have been their last customer of the night," he said, adding that the young married couple had had a "rough" couple of years, reduced to one income after having children.
"I have never been so glad to listen to my wife's nagging," the man said Tuesday.
He discovered their newly won fortune Sunday thanks to his wife's request for a barbecued sausage.
Out shopping for bargains, the man said he didn't have enough money to buy his wife the sausage she'd asked him for. So he decided to check his Saturday lottery ticket in case he'd won a small prize.
"I could not believe it when they said I was actually the big winner," he said.
When he showed the printout to his wife, she initially thought they had won $4,200 (NZ$7,700).
"When she realized how much it really was, she fell to the floor, and then said: 'but all I wanted was a sausage.'"
