'Friends' reunion: Creator Marta Kauffman says it will 'never happen'
This week, rumors circulated that NBC had confirmed a "Friends" reunion season. The whole thing seemed legit -- you know, except for the "press release" ridden with typos and the badly-photoshopped poster seen above.
Okay, so it didn't seem legit at all. A few precious folks were hopeful that a reunion was in the works, but Warner Bros. confirmed to Zap2it that there was nothing "Friends"-related planned. All the stars are busy with other projects -- including the Central Perk couch, which is currently hosting the butts of fans from far and wide at the Warner Bros. exhibit at the Paley Museum in LA.
Now, "Friends" co-creator Marta Kauffman has weighed in, telling EOnline that a reunion will "never ever happen."
Ouch. Twist that knife a little deeper.

CBS Cancels ‘C.S.I. Miami’
The crime drama, which lasted 10 seasons, most likely became the victim in this case because it was more expensive than its newer, and lower-rated, sister show, “C.S.I.: New York.” That drama is expected to be back on CBS’s schedule, which the network will announce Wednesday.
The original “C.S.I.,” set in Las Vegas and still the highest-rated of the three shows, is sure to return after a season in which it bounced back with Ted Danson as its latest star.
CBS released a statement about the decision to end the Miami show:
"C.S.I.: Miami” leaves an amazing television legacy — a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers — led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of “C.S.I.: Miami” in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.
“C.S.I.: Miami” was a top-rated show for most of its run and was one of the biggest sellers to international broadcasters around the world, generating hundreds of millions in revenue for CBS.
It also created one of the most imitated (and mocked) signature moments of recent television seasons: the ritual removal of the sunglasses by Mr. Caruso as he delivered an especially portentous line of dialogue.

They Will Be There For New Friends Movie

Hugs all round - because we can reveal that Friends is back for a big-screen version of the hit sitcom.
Studio bosses have got together for an oversized mug of coffee to prepare a script for a film version of the series.
And they are ready to break the bank with a multi-million package to get the main cast on board.
In an exclusive interview, James Michael Tyler - who played Central Perk oddball Gunther - confirmed: "Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen."
The film comes in the wake of the big screen version of Sex And The City which took an astonishing $408,921,925 at the box office.
It will see Jennifer Aniston, 40, Courteney Cox, 45, Lisa Kudrow, 46, Matt LeBlanc, 42, Matthew Perry, 40, and David Schwimmer, 42, back on the same set for the first time since the show ended in 2004.

But MATT LEBLANC'S spinoff comedy Joey, where he reprised the character he played on Friends, was cancelled after just two seasons.
MATTHEW PERRY'S (Chanddler) recent TV show Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, written by the West Wing's Aaron Sorkin, was also cancelled after just a single season. But he recently bounced back this year in the film 17 Again, where he played the older Zac Efron.
But now Warner Brothers have drafted in Friends creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman to write and produce the film, due in cinemas in the summer of 2011.
A movie source said: "The cast haven't set the world alight since the show finished.
"But this film could relight some of their flagging careers in a big way."
"But everyone knew the story had to be right and well written. Getting the creators on board was a massive step forward for the project.
"The show did lose a lot of its shine in the last few seasons, but with the actors all in the forties it would be a real interest to see how their characters have developed."
Desire
The cast have always made no secret about a desire to do a film and Lisa Kudrow said: "It would be so fun to be with all those people again.
"But our show was not like Sex and the City - ours was multi-camera, in front of a live audience.
"It's a completely different feel. You'd have to bring the tone down, and I don't know how it would be. I'll just stay open."

Greatest American Hero Movie In The Works
Kitsch 80’s television show Greatest American Hero is to be made into a movie, according to io9.
For those not old enough to remember it, the series originally aired between 1981 and 1983, and revolved around a school teacher given special powers by Aliens. The series is probably better remembered for its theme song “Theme from Greatest American Hero (Believe It or Not)” by Joey Scarbury, embed as follows:
Series creator Stephen J. Cannell confirmed he is working on a script for the show, saying “We’ve written a screenplay, and we’ve hired a director, and we’re in the midst of putting this together for the future.”
